PROCESS ORIENTED PSYCHOLOGY also known as PROCESS WORK

Process Oriented Psychology (or Process Work for short) was originated by Dr. Arnold Mindell, theoretical physicist and Jung analyst in the early 1980's and has been subsequently developed by him and colleagues over the following years.

As well as one to one psychotherapy, the process oriented approach is applied to relationship and conflict work, inner work or meditation, organisational development and large group forums working on impossible world issues.

Process Work is an awareness practice which offers a magical and unexpected approach to life and psychotherapy. Drawing on eastern religions, shamanism, Jungian psychology and signal-based therapies, process work is a path made by walking. In other words, we discover the dream-like pattern behind apparent events in the material world and this informs the direction the work will take.  The disturbances that life presents are the very route to their own creative solution. In addition to  insight and awareness, Process Work sessions often result in the client gaining a sense of personal freedom or power, fun, liveliness, spiritual peace or a joyful detachment

Each session is as unique as the individual. Sometimes a Process Work session looks like ordinary talking therapy.  At other times, we might use role play, dance, music, art or meditation.

Nothing is beyond the scope of Process Work, and even the most seemingly intractable problems can be understood as part of the rich diversity of life.
