If you don't mind paying a few extra pounds for a lounge and kitchen these apartments are ideally located, close to St Margaret's Road. Apartments are available for one or more nights and we were quoted £60 per night for 2 people sharing a suite. Also handy for our house.
The Premier Inn

This is a short walk (less than 20 minutes) to Heaton Hall through the Middleton Road gate, however on Saturday night that gate will be closed and we reckon it'll be 2.75 miles. It's not really convenient for buses from Heaton Hall either, but you could probably share a taxi/minibus if others were staying there. It's part of an international hotel chain, and double rooms are from £52. If this one is full, there are a couple more Premier Inns a mile or two away: see the Premier Inn website and check the "Hotels Nearby" section.
The Church Inn

This 17th century Inn with luxury accommodation is situated about 2 miles from Heaton Hall. We enjoy a pint or two in there, following a walk in the nearby Prestwich Clough. Meals are available at lunchtimes and evenings. Double rooms from £55.
Fairways Lodge and Leisure Club

This hotel is probably too far to walk to (it's around 3 miles away) and is rather pricey but has lots of facilities. Double rooms from £79.
